Here’s what you need to know to become the master of potions in TBC.
When you reach a certain point in alchemy within TBC, you can then move onto certain specializations. One of these is known as potion master, which is what we will be discussing here today. If you do decide to part with one specialization for another, you will need to part with some WoW TBC gold. Not so much that you will need to buy WoW TBC gold, but you should still be aware of it.
Becoming the Potion Master
If you would like to opt for the potion master route, then you will need a few WoW TBC Classic items first. Before that, we need to unlock the relevant quest. This is done when you get your alchemy skill to 325, and your level to 68. Next, we need 5 super healing potions, 5 super mana potions, and 5 major dreamless sleep potions. You’re also going to need to get the Botanist’s Field Guide from Botanica’s second boss.
Master of Potions Quest
The quest that we need to do starts with Lauranna Thar’well. You can find this character in Zangarmarsh at the Cenarion Refuge. You will also need to be at level 70, and your alchemy level at 68. So if you have been taking in Burning Crusade power leveling techniques so far, you should hopefully be in a good position.
In this quest, Lauranna Thar’well requests that you head to Tempest Keep. You will need to go to Botanica to get the Botanist’s Field Guide that you retrieve from High Botanist Freywinn. You will also need the potions that we mentioned earlier.
Why You Should Choose Potion Master
This is going to be at a point where you are in the early days of the expansion. So you are going to want to be able to save as much WoW TBC Classic gold as you can. By opting to do the potion master over the other options, you are not only choosing an easier route, but you are also choosing the cheapest as well.
What Are the Alternatives?
In total, there are three specializations for you to choose from. As well as potions, you also have elixirs and transmutations. If you would like to become an elixir master, then you will need to complete the Master of Elixirs quest. You get this from Lorokeem over in Shattrath City. To do this quest, you will need 5 elixirs of major defence, 5 elixirs of mastery, and 5 Elixir of major agility. You’ll also have to get 10 Essence of Infinity, which you get from Black Morass. The problem with this is that the drop rate is pretty awful, so you will more than likely have to do a few runs of the quest.
The other alternative is the transmute master. If you would like to take this option, then you will need to complete the Master of Transmutation quest. You can start this by going over to Zarevhi over at Stormspire in Netherstorm, If you want to complete this quest, then you’re going to need 4 primal might. The good thing about this is that using specializations allows you to make more of the primal might with the materials that it takes to just make one.
If you do decide that you want to change your specialization, then you can do so rather easily. All you have to do to start with is going to the trainer that taught you your current specialization. You will then need to pay 150g out of your WoW TBC Classic gold so that you can unlearn the current specialization that you have. This will then allow you to be able to see all of the three specialization trainers, so you can now specialize without having to fork out additional WoW TBC gold, or having to do more quests.
So now you know what it is you need to do in order to be able to become a potion master in The Burning Crusade. The specializations that are on offer are going to be helpful to you in general. They will allow you to get your hands on certain WoW TBC Classic items much easier than you would without them. In that sense, they are worth your time working towards. That said, they are going to require some dedication on your part, since you do have to meet certain skill and level requirements if you’re going to make the most of it. So if you want something different to do than earning gold or utilizing WoW TBC power leveling, then this is it.
